Looking at Assignar, but you're not a 100-person contractor?
Assignar is the serious operations platform for mid-size and larger self-perform contractors, and it's priced, sold and set up like one. Dayboard does the scheduling-and-compliance half for the crews below that, at a price on the page.
The same job, at two very different sizes
Of all the platforms out there, Assignar is the one Dayboard overlaps most: crew and plant scheduling, compliance documents, site forms. The difference is who each is built for. Assignar sells through a demo, quotes each customer individually, and starts with a scoped onboarding engagement, the right shape for a contractor with an ops team to run it. Dayboard is self-serve: you sign up, load sample data, and your schedule is working the same afternoon.

When Assignar is the better choice
Honestly, because being straight about this is why you can trust the rest of the page:
- You run dozens of crews across concurrent projects and need allocation at that scale, with someone whose job is running the system.
- You need timesheets that work out the pay: payroll feeds, EBA interpretation, or custom compliance workflows a principal contractor has imposed on you.
- You have the budget and the appetite for an implementation project, and the size to make it pay.
When Dayboard is the smarter buy
Dayboard was built by an Australian civil contractor for his own crew: the size of business where a big-platform quote never made sense.
- You schedule 5 to 50 people and machines, and the whiteboard (or the group chat) is starting to cost you mornings.
- You want the crew phone-first: today's jobs, the drawings and SWMS, the prestart and the week's hours to fill in, on whatever phone they already carry, $5 a seat.
- You want compliance watched, not administered: tickets, inductions, regos, services and subbie insurance certificates, each flagged before it lapses.
- You want the bill to be arithmetic: a typical eight-person crew is $65 a month including GST. No quote, no onboarding fee, no annual lock-in, and the first 20 companies get 30% off for life.
- You want a real exit: export every record, document and signed form any day you like. Leaving being easy is a headline feature, not a support ticket.
